John Amos was married to Lillian Lehman, a fellow actor, from 1965 to 1975. They met while working on a production of the play "Norman, Is That You?" in the 1960s. They had two children together during their marriage, a son named Shannon and a daughter named K.C. Amos. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1975. After their divorce, Amos went on to marry two more times.
